What we collect, and what we do with it.

This page describes what happens to personal data collected through sharkasystems.com. It does not cover data we handle inside a client engagement — that is governed by the agreement and data-handling terms signed for that engagement, which we put in front of you in writing before any work begins.

If you fill in the contact form, we collect the name, work email address and message you type into it. Nothing else in that form is hidden, and there are no fields you cannot see.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing scripts, and we do not set any cookie that identifies you.

We use Plausible Analytics to count page views. Plausible is cookieless and does not collect or store personal data or cross-site identifiers — we see aggregate counts of pages and referrers, not individuals. There is nothing to opt out of, because there is no profile to opt out from.

The only reason we hold what you send through the contact form is to reply to it and to keep a record of the conversation that follows. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent or share contact details with anyone for marketing.

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted once they are clearly no longer live — in practice within twenty-four months. Enquiries that do lead to an engagement are retained for as long as the commercial relationship and our record-keeping obligations require.

Contact form submissions are stored in a database on infrastructure we operate, and a copy of each submission is delivered to our internal Slack workspace so that somebody sees it promptly. Slack and Plausible are the only third-party services that touch data from this website.

We do not use your enquiry to train any machine learning model, ours or anyone else's.

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@sharkasystems.com and we will action it — deletion requests within thirty days, and usually a great deal sooner than that.

You do not need to give a reason, and asking will not affect anything else between us.

The site is served over HTTPS, and the contact database is not publicly reachable. Access is limited to the people who need it to reply to you.

No system is perfect. If we ever discover a breach affecting data collected here, we will tell the people affected rather than wait to be asked.

If this policy changes materially we will update the date below rather than change it quietly. For anything on this page — including a request to delete what we hold — write to hello@sharkasystems.com.
